The Adara are also known as Kadara. They live in in Kaduna state and also in Niger state in Nigeria. One of the striking features of the art of the Adara are the multiple heads. The story of the heads starts with five brothers who had a dispute about where to bury their mother. Three of them agreed to move the corps to fertile land called Adara, but the others disagreed. So they divided the mother and the head part went with the three brothers who became great warriors. This is why the Adara honor the head part of the mother.
