description

The Bachama or Abacama live in Adamawa state in Lamurde, Numan, Demsa and Mayo Belwa LGA’s. Some are also in Kaduna state, northeast of Kaduna town and in Kogi state at the confluence of Benue and Niger rivers. Their origins go back to the beginning of the 19th century and founder Zaro Dembune.
One of the recognizable features of the Bachama art are the peculiar eyes some of their carvings have.
As one can see on this nice pair of masks.
