Wood | h 54 + 57 cm | 21,3 + 22,4 in. | 20th century

description

The Jarawa or Jarawa-Dutse (Hill Jarawa) live in Bauchi state. There are also communities in Plateau and Gombe state. They came originally from Bornu to Dass bringing with them a spear which is still worshipped in the Dass temple.
There is also an indigenous Jarawa tribe living on the Andeman islands of India. The tribes of the Andeman islands have been a subject of scientific geneology research since there are still questions about the origin of the “negrito” peoples.

The couple serves cups that are detachable.
